Orders from RD Malcolm S. Garma re opening of classes on June 5, 2017
(From the ReManCom, June 2)
1. All should be ready for the first lesson. The first day always leaves first impressions on the school.
2. Secondary school heads should apply their organizational skills. They should strategize on how to make do with available resources. Learn from the lessons of school heads of NCR on handling first day of classes.
3. Elementary school heads should manage classroom instruction and make their schools have welcoming atmosphere.
4. Test the readiness of newly hired SHS teachers to teach higher academic subjects and how to motivate SHS students.
5. SDSs should check good governance. Reiterate and strictly implement the NO COLLECTION POLICY. School heads should not hide behind their PTAs.
6. It is not the work of the PTA to raise funds for the school. Instead, it should motivate parents to show concern to their children. It is the function of the principal to manage resources - the MOOE. SDSs should check the status of MOOE utilization.
7. Check the establishments around the school. Check the food served outside the campus.
8. Account students to determine excess teachers. Redistribute excess teachers and items in the division.
9. Check and validate loading of teachers
10. Validate enrolment data.
11. There should be help desks at the D.O and in schools.
12. Do not have different school uniforms for students enrolled in special programs. This results in discrimination.
13. June 3 - First Parent Teacher Conference
14. Check food served in the school canteen. Follow deped order on food categories. Serve "green" food.
15. Textbooks and IMs should be ready for distribution on June 5.
16. Students from private schools without credentials may be temporarily enrolled up to first quarter only.
17. Standardized class programs
18. Deploy master teachers even in far-flung schools.
19. Assign information officer to speak with Media to give accurate information.
20. SDOs will be given 2 weeks to submit the "semi-final" inventory on enrolment data.
