Duterte expected to sign DOH's EO on smoking ban this week

Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol has revealed that President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to sign the executive order on the smoking ban on Tuesday.

"Yes. He said he will sign it tomorrow," he said after attending the 13th Cabinet meeting in Malacañang on Monday afternoon.

Piñol said Duterte would want to sign the draft Executive Order prepared by the Department of Health (DOH) without any changes.

"He told Sec. Ubial to stick to the draft EO, which DOH prepared," he added.

The draft EO bans e-cigarettes and vapes in public areas and designating smoking areas and indoor smoking areas inside establishments.
