1. The Department of Education (DepEd) has been a strong advocate of demand reduction of dangerous substances and educating about the health and social consequences of drug abuse. There are ongoing efforts to align to international standards, such as the Universal Prevention Curriculum for Substance Use to further strengthen the department's program in the area of curriculum and instruction.
2. With this goal, DepEd issues the Detailed Lesson Plans (DLPs) on the Preventive Drug Education Program, which may be downloaded through this link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/lasembem2XAq1Jr8NCLbsUE1rz6HkLFVa?usp=sharing. These DLPs contain a detailed description of the steps on how a teacher will teach the topics focusing on life skills. It will help the teachers manage instructions effectively to ensure that learning is evident inside their classrooms.
3. The first batch of DLPs for July to November may be downloaded on July 16, while DLPs for the remaining months will be available on September 24, 2018. The schools division offices (SDOs) shall ensure that all schools be provided with a copy of the DLPs.
4. Further contexualization of DLPs is encouraged.
5. All elementary and secondary schools are encouraged to deliver the DLPs for School Year 2018-2019 on the schedule indicated in Enclosure No. 1.
6. The class adviser shall deliver the DLPs within the scheduled dates and accomplish the monthly monitoring report form provided in Enclosure No. 2. The monthly report shall be submitted to the guidance counselors/ designated guidance coordinators/ guidance teachers who shall consolidate and submit report to the Chief of School Governance Operations Division (SGOD) of each SDO per semester. The SGOD of the SDO shall then consolidate and submit the semestral report to the Office of the Secretary-Special Concerns Unit (OSec-SCU) of the central office.
7. Monitoring of the program implementation shall be conducted by the OSecSCU in partnership with the Bureau of Learning Delivery (BLD)
8. Expenses related to the conduct of the program shall be charged to the School Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
